Get Ready With Me - Wedding Social

Hi everyone,

I hope you are having a good day :)

I wanted to share with you my makeup and outfit for a wedding social I went to about a week ago. This was the second time I ever went to a wedding social and it was so much fun. I even won a prize which really never happens. I am not sure how popular they are in other provinces, but they are really popular here in Manitoba.

For my makeup, I decided to go for something sparkly (I love sparkly eyes), with a black eyeliner, and a bold lip. I finally have a reason to dress up, so why not go all the way? :P

Products in the picture above: Maybelline Beauty Cream in light/medium// Anastasia Brow Powder Duo in medium Brown// Beauty Sponge// Benefit blush in Coralista// Myabelline gel liner in blackest black// Benefit Porefessional Face Primer// Mac Pigment in english guilt (similar)// Benefit Hoola Bronzer// Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer in light neutral// Too Faced Eye Shadow Primer// Anastasia Clear Brow Gel// Mac Paint Pot in painterly// The Balm Luminizers in Mary-Lou & Cindy-Lou.

Other products used: Colourpop Ultra Matte & Satin Lip in lumiere 2 & scrooge// Maybelline Waterproof Lash Sensational Mascara// Mac eyeshadows in saddle, haux, soft brown, naked lunch, shroom// Too Faced Glitter Glue// Shu Uemura eyelash curler.

I started off with the Too Faced eyeshadow primer. Then I used Mac paint pot in painterly to build a good base for the eyeshadow.

I mixed three Mac eyeshadows: saddle, haux, and soft brown, applied them to my crease and blended them out. I repeated that process a couple of times until I got the result that I wanted.

Then I used Too Faced's glitter glue all over my lid, and followed with Mac pigment in English Guilt that I have from a limited winter collection edition. I then blended all the harsh lines in the crease, and added an inner corner highlight using two Mac eyeshadows, naked lunch and shroom.

I used Mayabelline gel liner to add an eyeliner on both of my lids. I then curled my eyelashes with Shu Uemura eyelash curler and applied Maybelline Waterproof Lash Sensational Mascara. I also filled in my eyebrows with Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo and added Anastasia's clear brow gel on mt brows to keep them in place.

Lastly, I applied Benefit Porefessional in my T-zone, and used a sponge to apply Maybelline's BB cream. I warmed up my face using Hoola Bronzer by Benefit, and dusted Coralista by Benefit on my cheeks. I applied the two luminziers mentioned previously by The Balm on the high points of my cheeks, down the bridge of my nose, and on my cupid's bow. I then used the three Mac eyeshadows I used in my crease to smoke out my lower lash line. And finally, I applied on my lips two ColourPop Matte lipstick, Lumiere 2 and Scrooge.

This is how it turned out (I apologize for the texture on my face. I was having an allergy on the day these pictures were taken):

Love making faces..why not? :P

Since it finally started to warm up in Winnipeg, I decided to wear a skirt with a top and a faux leather jacket on top. I paired this outfit with black heeled sandals, and a black cross body bag.

Top: Nordstrom Rack // Skirt: Castro // Faux Leather Jacket: Dynamite (a couple of years ago) similar // Sandals: Steven Madden // Cross Body Bag: Michael Kors // Necklace: Etsy

I hope you enjoyed reading this post and that maybe it gave you some inspiration/idea next time you go out to a social or just any event.

Lots of love,

Sophie
